Community Policing

The PACT Unit. consists of members of the community in Parma Heights to put on programs for residents to improve the relationship between citizens and police.  The PACT Unit consists of  nine (9) officers and three (3) sergeants.  Some officers are assigned a zone while other officers help out with other programs with the unit.

PACT Officers
Pact Unit officers have gone door-to-door introducing themselves and handing out information on how to contact the officer.  The City of Parma Heights is divided into four zones and officers are assigned to each zone.

Citizens Academy

Our department Citizens Academy is held in conjunction with Cuyahoga Community College. This program offers an opportunity for citizens to gain an in-depth look at the job police officers do. This program consists of eleven (11) consecutive weeks of three (3) hour classes. To find out more on how to attend and when the next Citizen’s Academy will be held, click here.

Youth Group
This program offers youth ages 12-17 an opportunity to participate in social, life skills activities and discussion based groups on current issues that affect youth.

Other Community Outreach
PACT officers also provide other various community outreach programs including Coffee with a Cop, speaking engagements at local schools and other community events like Kids in the Commons.  To request a PACT officer to speak with your organization or to attend an event, please either email [email protected] or call the Police Department at 440.884.1235.

Auxiliary Officers
Our department has recently started an auxiliary officer program.  It currently consists of three (3)  auxiliary officers.  These officers help out with PACT Unit, especially the youth group.  The auxiliary officers will complete park checks throughout the summer, help officers complete vacation checks and be present at community events such as Kids in the Commons, outdoor movie nights and the annual Memorial Day parade. The auxiliary officers will also be riding along with our residents during the officers’ regular tour of duty.  Auxiliary officers are also available for block parties.  For more information, please contact the Parma Heights Police Department at 440.884.1235.
