Tom Rounds was first appointed to Parma Heights City Council in 2020, elected in 2021,  and reelected in 2025. Tom has been a resident of Parma Heights Ward 3 since 2002. He is a graduate of Brunswick High School, The Ohio State University and University of Akron. Tom was a teacher in the Brunswick Schools for 32 years and recently retired from the Ohio Department of Education as a regional specialist after working there for 13 years. Tom served on the 2019 Charter Review Commission and Parma Heights Planning Commission before joining city council. He is the Council President and serves on the Finance Committee.

 

Lisa Maruschak

Lisa Maruschak was elected to City Council in 2021 with her first term commencing on January 1, 2022.  She is a graduate of Holy Name High School, Cuyahoga Community College Western Campus, and Cleveland State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Lisa works as an Intervention Specialist in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and is a member of the Cleveland Teacher’s Union Local 279.  She has been a homeowner in Parma Heights since 2008 where she raised her two children, Colin, a graduate of Holy Name High School who currently is serving in the United States Army, and Ethan a current Namer. Lisa was elected by her City Council colleagues to serve as Council President Pro Tem, serves as the Chair of the Safety Committee and serves as the Vice Chair for the Finance Committee and the Ad Hoc Committee.

Lesley DeSouza was most recently re-elected to City Council, Ward 2, in November 2025.  Councilwoman DeSouza serves as Chairwoman of the Finance Committee, a member of the Streets and Utilities Committee, and Council Representative to the Planning Commission.  Previously she served on the Master Plan Review Committee, and as Chairwoman of the Charter Review Commission.  Lesley attended Incarnate Word Academy, Valley Forge High School, and has two degrees from Tri-C.  Lesley was on the Board of Directors for University Hospital Parma, and is retired from Cuyahoga County government.  She has been a homeowner in Parma Heights for over 40 years.

Steven Vanek

Steven Vanek has been a resident of Ward 4 since 2017. He is a graduate of Berea High School, Baldwin Wallace University, and The University of Cincinnati. Steven is a graduate of the Cleveland Police Academy and served The City of Cleveland as a Patrol Officer. He is currently assigned as a Detective for The Strongsville Police Department where he has served for eight years. Steven is a Certified Crime Scene Analyst through The International Association for Identification and has been a licensed commercial drone pilot for over five years.  Steven serves on the Safety and Recreation Committees.

Sue Durichko is a proud Parma native, Parma Heights resident since 2018, and dedicated public servant. She has served as an At-Large Councilwoman on Parma Heights City Council since January 2021, focusing on listening to residents, responding to their needs, and strengthening the community. She chairs the Utilities and Streets Committee and serves on the Ad Hoc Committee.

Professionally, Sue is Chief of Staff for the Ohio Council for Home Care and Hospice, where she works with lawmakers, lobbyists, and state departments to advocate for Ohioans and support access to quality home and community-based care. Her career has focused on serving older adults and helping individuals and families navigate aging and care.

Sue proudly serves on the board of All Faiths Pantry, helping deliver food to older adults in need throughout Parma Heights. This work reflects her deep commitment to caring for neighbors and strengthening the community she is proud to call home.

Sue is grateful to serve Parma Heights and remains committed to helping it thrive as a welcoming, caring, and vibrant community. She and her husband of more than 25 years, Dan, are proud parents of three adult children. Their family remains one of Sue’s greatest joys, and she treasures the love, support, and connection they share.

Christopher Kolezynski

Christopher Kolezynski originally served on the Charter Review Commission and later the Board of Zoning Appeals for several years before being elected to City Council. Chris and his family are longtime residents of the City of Parma Heights and he has resided in the city now for two decades. He attended Cleveland State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and double minor in Sociology and Sustainable Urban Development. Later Chris went on to graduate from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 2018 with his Juris Doctor and was licensed to practice law after passing the Bar Exam shortly thereafter. He works in cybersecurity and law with a focus on civil rights. He looks forward to putting his work ethic to good use for the City. Chris serves as the Chair of the Recreation Committee, the Fair Housing Board and as Vice-Chair on the Utilities and Streets Committee.

Stephanie Palmisano

Stephanie Palmisano grew up on the east coast and moved from Baltimore, MD to Ohio in 2007. She purchased her home in Parma Heights in April of 2018, and joined the Parma Heights Garden Club shortly after.  Stephanie served on the Parma Heights Board of Zoning Appeals for approximately 1 1/2 years before being elected to City Council.  She was recently appointed to serve as Secretary on the board of the Young Professionals of Parma organization, who’s mission is to strengthen the community of Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills through networking, activism, and local pride. Stephanie has two adult children who still live close to home.  Her eldest is a proud member of the Local 1377 Union.  Stephanie works as the CMO for a locally owned business and is enjoying putting her skills to work for the residents of Parma Heights.  Stephanie is most passionate about community involvement and dedicated to making council decisions in the best interest of the residents. Stephanie is proud to serve as Chair for the Ad Hoc Committee, Vice-Chair for the Safety Committee and Vice-Chair of the Recreation Committee and is the Council Representative for the Recreation Commission.
