Tom Rounds

Tom Rounds was recently appointed to fill the unexpired term of the Ward 3 Council seat in September 2020 and then elected during the November, 2021 General Election. Tom has been a resident of Parma Heights Ward 3 since 2002. He is a graduate of Brunswick High School with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from The Ohio State University. Tom got his Master of Science Degree in School Counseling from the University of Akron. A 32-year teacher in the Brunswick City Schools, Tom was recognized as the Brunswick City Schools Teacher of the Year and received the Crystal Apple Award from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Tom retired from classroom teaching in 2013 and has worked as an educational support specialist in Northeast Ohio for the Department of Education. Tom served Parma Heights on the 2019 Charter Review Commission. He serves on the Finance Committee.

Rick Haase

Rick Haase was appointed to fill the unexpired term of the Ward 4 Council seat in February 2020 and officially sworn-in by Parma Heights Mayor Michael P. Byrne on Monday, March 2, 2020 then was elected during the November, 2021 General Election.  A resident of Parma Heights Ward 4 for more than 50 years, he is a graduate of Valley Forge High School, Cuyahoga Community College’s Western Campus, and Baldwin-Wallace University.  Haase is best known as a local journalist and marketing communications professional who has won numerous local, regional and national awards for his writing.  He most recently served as a member of the Parma Heights Charter Review Commission, and also previously worked as Director of Communications for the Office of Parma Heights Mayor Michael P. Byrne.  He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of Cassidy Theatre, Inc. in Parma Heights.  Rick serves as Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee,  Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee and is the Council Representative to the Planning Commission.

Lisa Maruschak

Lisa Maruschak was elected to City Council in 2022.  She is a graduate of Holy Name High School, Cuyahoga Community College, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Cleveland State University.  Lisa has been a homeowner in Parma Heights since 2008 with her husband John, where they are raising their two children, Colin and Ethan.  Chairs the Recreation Committee and serves on the Utilities, Streets and Sidewalks Committee.  Lisa serves as the Chair of the Safety and Recreation Committee, and serves on the Ad Hoc committee.  She is also the Council Representative on the Recreation Commission.

Lesley DeSouza has been appointed to fill the recently vacated, unexpired term as Councilwoman in Ward 2 seat in September 2021 and then elected during the November, 2021 General Election, and serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee and is the Vice-Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee.  She previously served on Parma Heights City Council from 2003 through 2015, both as Council-at-large and Ward 2, during which time she was on the Finance Committee and Planning Commission. Lesley also served as Chairwoman of the Parma Heights Charter Review Commission. She attended Incarnate Word Academy then Valley Forge High School. Lesley has been a homeowner in Parma Heights for almost 40 years. Currently she is a member of the Parma Heights Historical Society. Lesley is retired from Cuyahoga County.

Sue Durichko is a proud native of Parma, Ohio. She moved to Parma Heights in 2018 and eagerly immersed herself into the community.  She excitedly embraced the opportunity to serve on the Charter Review Commission and then as her journey continued she was appointed to the Board of Zoning Appeals. Eventually, she had the opportunity to proudly serve as a City Councilwoman At-Large for two years.  Most recently Sue won her election in 2023 to continue to serve as a City Councilwoman At-Large for a 4 year term commencing January 1st, 2024. Sue expresses a deep satisfaction in growing with her community and learning how to best represent the people of Parma Heights.  Sue is a representative that understands the duty to being a voice for the people and representing the interests of the community.  She has served on the Police Fire and Safety Committee, the Streets and Sidewalks Committee and is currently the Vice Chair of the Recreation Committee and the Chair of the Utilities and Streets Committee.  In the private sector Sue is a dedicated nurse leader with a primary focus on the geriatric population.  Sue supports best practice and standards of care in senior living communities in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois.  Sue expresses a humble gratitude to be able to “care for those who cared for us.”  Her profound love, passion and respect for our senior population shines.  Sue is most grateful to share these experiences with her husband Dan of over 25 years and the three adult children they have lovingly raised together.  She is honored to continue to serve the city of Parma Heights and to represent the people.

 

Christopher Kolezynski

Christopher Kolezynski originally served on the Charter Review Commission and later the Board of Zoning Appeals for several years before being elected to City Council. Chris and his family are longtime residents of the City of Parma Heights and he has resided in the city now for two decades. He attended Cleveland State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and double minor in Sociology and Sustainable Urban Development. Later Chris went on to graduate from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 2018 with his Juris Doctor and was licensed to practice law after passing the Bar Exam shortly thereafter. He works full time as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at a leading legal technology and cybersecurity solutions provider. He looks forward to putting his work ethic to good use for the City. Chris serves on the Recreation Committee, the Fair Housing Board and as Vice-Chair on the Utilities and Streets Committee.

Stephanie Palmisano

Stephanie Palmisano grew up on the east coast, moved from Baltimore, MD to Ohio in 2007. She purchased her home in Parma Heights in April of 2018, and joined the Parma Heights Garden Club shortly after. She has been a Notary Public in Cuyahoga County since 2019. Stephanie served on the Parma Heights Board of Zoning Appeals for approximately 1 1/2 years before being elected to City Council.  Stephanie has two adult children who still live close to home.  Her eldest is a proud member of the Local 1377 Union.  Stephanie works as a member of the c-suite for a small family owned business and is looking forward to putting her skills to work for the residents of Parma Heights.  Stephanie is most passionate about community involvement and dedicated to making council decisions in the best interest of the residents. Stephanie is proud to serve as Vice-Chair for the Safety Committee and as a member of the Utilities & Streets Committee.
