For kids of all ages!  Pool/Waterpark free for Parma Heights residents only.  Donations to the Ohio Flags of Honor are welcomed.

“Parma Heights is, and has always been, a city with a small-town atmosphere,” said Mayor Michael P. Byrne, “and our Kids in the Commons event really celebrates that sense of family and community.”  Adding to that sense of community, high school students needing service hours who are interested in helping out at the event are asked to contact the Mayor’s Office at 440.884.9604.

Along with DJ music and free admission for residents to the pool/waterpark (donations to the Ohio Flags of Honor will be welcomed), activities include balloon twisting, airbrush tattoos, strolling magic and music, juggling tricks, and bubblepalooza.

The Parma Heights Historical Society will be at the Tollhouse with old fashioned games and treats.  The Greenbrier Art League will offer an “Elegant Writer” watercolor craft project.  The Parma Heights branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library will feature an indoor green screen for special effects selfies, a Treasure Box, and a rock painting craft project.

The Cleveland Metroparks will be returning with their ‘NatureTracks” mobile outreach vehicle. A Metroparks naturalist will lead a “Hike in the Park” between the hours of 1-2 p.m. Participants are asked to meet at N.E.O. Soccer, which will also serve as an alternate location in the event of rain.

The popular sand volleyball game “Nuke ‘Em” will be played at the sand volleyball court at 3 p.m.  Boccé ball, pickleball, tennis and cornhole will also be available to play throughout the day.

The ever-popular University Hospital Parma Medical Center (UHPMC) Medevac helicopter will be in the N.E.O. Soccer parking lot between 2 to 3 p.m.

The Parma Heights Police and Fire Departments will be on hand, along with demonstrations by the YMCA, the Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) “Energy Bike” and the Cleveland Water Department.

New this year, the Cassidy Theatre’s Youth Theatre will host a “Rising Stars Showcase” from 7 to 8 p.m. at the theatre.  Rounding out a busy day is our final outdoor movie of the season, “Sherlock Gnomes,” shown at 9 p.m. behind the tennis courts.
